Welcome to Streets Alive

Art traces in public spaces

Bringing art from schools and studios to the city streets and public spaces of Launceston

Streets Alive is an arts program created by Interweave Arts which aims to provide quality arts opportunities and experiences for young people, the young at heart, individuals with a disability and community groups.

Our most publicly known project is the Streets Alive Arts Festival, an inclusive event that involves young people engaging in the arts that includes a broad forum for them and the community to discuss debate, explore and express their opinions in creative ways on issues of relevance to the today's young people. In its fifth reincarnation, the festival involves thousands of young people and Tasmanian artists, expanding their skills through a huge variety of arts projects for taking over the streets of Launceston. Some of our other key projects have been Eat the Street with the students from Mowbray Heights, Monster Maker and the Access Arts Trail.
